Life Membership Medal for Gordon Smith
Gordon first joined the club in about 1977 and
immediately started taking a very active role and this is
evidenced by his being awarded the Ogilvie Trophy for Mens
Club Spirit in 1978. He continued a high level of activity
which included operating the 'cash for cans' scheme. This
scheme resulted in no small way to the club being in its present
healthy financial position. In 1995 Gordon was elected President
and retired from that position in October 1998. At a recent
General Meeting of the club Gordon was elected unanimously
a Life Member of the club.
