I tested my hammie out fully yesterday, and it passed. I am all ready to go! The start list has me ranked 12th on PBs but some athletes have no time entered and some are hand times converted to electronic so they are not totally accurate. Also PBs don't give a good reflection of the field as they could be from years ago. My guess is I am probably ranked between 12th and 20th for what it's worth (not much!).

16 JuneWillis felled in NCAA 1500M final
Nick Willis had an unfortunate end to a stand-out debut season on the US collegiate circuit when he was felled in the final of the 1500m at the NCAA finals in Sacramento, California yesterday (14 June).
Willis had qualified fastest for the final at the national inter-collegiate championships with a personal best 3:42.16 in winning his semifinal. He was in a class of his own in the semifinal, taking the lead just before the bell and surging to a 20-metre lead with 250m to go, then holding that to the finish.
However, in the final Willis was running in third position in a tight bunch just after completing the first lap when another runner clipped his heels as he tried to make a move to the outside. He fell to the ground and, by the time he got back to his feet, he was trailing by some 75m and never got back in contention.
Willis now plans to race in Europe before returning to NZ during July.

  4 JuneWillis into US finals.
Hutt Valley athlete Nick Willis has qualified for the US national inter-collegiate finals after a dominant performance in the 1500m at the Mideast Regional championships at the weekend.
Running for the University of Michigan, Willis beat a quality field by two seconds to record 3min 45.45sec, a stadium record at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and the third-fastest time by a New Zealander in the past year. Only Rees Buck and Ben Ruthe have run faster in the past season.

The run qualifies Nick for the NCAA national finals in Sacramento, California, where he will be one of two University of Michigan runners, along with fellow middle-distance athlete Nate Brannen.

Jacinda won her specialist 800m event in 2min 16.95sec, and was third in the 400m (61.73sec); while Neil was second in both the 800m (1:56.20) and 1500m (4:08.16) and helped NZ to a win in the 4 x 400m relay.

Another Hutt Valley athlete, Brad Quinn, won his specialist javelin event with a best throw of 55.86m, while he also took out the shot put and hammer events.
